MERLE SLYHOFF POTTERY
Beginning over 25 years ago, Merle experiences an inherent joy an relaxation in taking a lump of clay, wedging it, throwing it on the wheel, adding texture and dimension and then waiting for the bisque piece to come out of the kiln. The last step, glazing, turns the initial lump of clay into a final piece of art. Whether it is a mug, a bowl, a vase or a platter, she works the clay to maintain a simplicity of design while considering the ergonomics of use. Her design aesthetic is minimalist, however, a fascination with texture and surface design enables her to enhance the simplicity through carvings, texture work and piercings that allow the glazes to intensify the final work. She designs and creates all of her work at her Glenside, PA studio, always striving to create work that brings joy to the user. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen and a Juried Member of the Bucks County Guild of Craftsmen. Her work “Trees” won an award at the Cheltenham Center for the Arts Member Show and she participates in many juried fine craft shows. Her work can also be found on the web and in local galleries.

WILLOW STREET PICTURES
Willow Street Pictures was founded in 2002 with several guiding principals in mind that have determined their integrity, honesty and experience. The most important is focusing their time and attention exclusively on projects that held a special meaning to them. Their entire team is deeply committed to their client and put every thing they have into the creative process. This has allowed them to create artwork that they can stand behind 100%. By looking at and understanding the richness in life only then are they able to become sensitive to it and capture the real substance of it. And along the way they discover things that are personally relevant and celebrate that playful spirit because in that play a lot of discoveries happen. They truthfully talk with their clients and let them know when less is more in a portrait and this allows them to come up with new exciting ideas that nobody had anticipated when it started. Playing and exploring ideas is simply what they truly enjoy. It keeps them sharp. It inspires them. It rekindles that creative process, that spirit which reinvigorates them. It refreshes them. It puts energy into their system.

WHISKERS AND STRING
After 20 years as a college professor of English, I needed a change. I knew I needed a break from traditional education, so I decided to take a few months and rest and revive my spirit. During those months I broke out my crafting supplies and remembered how much joy crafting brings me. Whiskers and String was born.
Whiskers and String allows me to bring together my love of crafting, my love for animals, and my desire to continually learn new things. I started out crafting just a few animals, but through customer requests and my pursuit of a challenge, I have continued to grow my offerings. Whiskers and String animals are needle-felted by hand using sheep and alpaca wool. Whenever possible, I use locally-sourced wool. My animals are 100% wool—no filler, styrofoam, or wire. I hope these little animals bring smiles and warmth to all who see them.
Handmade ceramic pottery.
Tom Lowery started wood working about 10 years ago. He was mainly making furniture for his home and a few friends. He watched several people at craft shows using a scroll saw and it peaked his interest. Today he turns pens, keychains, bottle openers, wine stoppers and wooden bowls.
